Service Update: Delays expected in NB and NS due to Hurricane Lee – September 15, 2023​

Please note that due to the anticipated tropical storm conditions and coastal flooding over portions of Atlantic Canada this weekend, delays are expected at our terminals in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

As per CN:
Effective from 0700 on Saturday, September 16, 2023, CN Rail will suspend all regular scheduled service in the Moncton and Halifax areas. Service will remain suspended until at least 1400 on Sunday, September 17, 2023. The resumption will depend on the impact and duration of the storm. We will be monitoring the conditions through the weekend and will resume business as soon as safe operating conditions return.

OTA News Release: Minister Mulroney Tours Maritime-Ontario to Promote National Trucking Week – August 25, 2023

(TORONTO, Aug. 25, 2023) – Ontario Transportation Minister Mulroney visited OTA Board member Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines just ahead of National Trucking Week (Sept. 3-9) to celebrate the trucking industry and the province’s hard working truck drivers.

The minister, who was joined by OTA president Stephen Laskowski, OTA Chair James Steed, MPP Armarjot Sandhu (Brampton West) and MPP Graham McGregor (Brampton North) spoke with company drivers about industry topics and the new air brake learning modules set to take effect on September 1. The drivers she spoke with were effusive in their praise for the new system, which provides truck drivers and fleets with more flexible, modernized options to renew air brake endorsements on existing licences.

Service Update: Delays in BC Due to Forest Fires – August 18, 2023

Please note that delays may be possible due to continued forest fire activity throughout BC.

As per CN:

-Train operations have been suspended west of Ashcroft and Kamloops, BC until further notice.
-All the trains have been cancelled at Vancouver and Kamloops, BC.
-Service will resume gradually as conditions in the area stabilize.

Please note that the required repairs have been completed, and all affected tracks have been reopened. Deliveries within NS should anticipate an additional 24-48 hour delay as track congestion and backlog are cleared. Please note that delays of 48-72 hours may be possible for deliveries in Nova Scotia, due to torrential downpours that have caused flooding in certain areas.
