On Monday, October 10th, 2022, we celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving Holiday and Harvest festival.
Our terminals Coast to Coast will be closed for all pickups and deliveries.

Power and communications were restored this past weekend. We have resumed pickup and delivery operations in the region. Please note that service to remote municipalities in Cape Breton may still be impacted due to the conditions in the area. We are anticipating a 24 hour delay as we clear through the backlog.

Dartmouth
We are fully staffed and operational for all Pickups and Deliveries.

Charlottetown
We have resumed regular P&D operations.

Newfoundland & Labrador

Please be advised that due to power outages our Terminal remains closed for all pickups and deliveries. We will resume operations once communication and power have been restored.
 
Dartmouth
We are focusing all our resources to clear through the backlog of deliveries serviced through the Dartmouth Terminal. As a result we are still anticipating a 24-48 hour delay due to the closures.

Charlottetown
We were advised this morning that power has been restored to the Terminal. Our teams are now working to prioritize pickups & deliveries. We are forecasting 48-72 hour delays as we work to clear through the backlog. Service to remote cities in PEI may still be impacted due to the conditions in the area.  

Newfoundland & Labrador
We are resuming all pickup and delivery operations across the island. Cities along Newfoundland’s west coast that have been heavily impacted by the storm may face further delays as clean up efforts continue.

Update: 09:34 09/28/22 – Power has just been restored to our Dartmouth Terminal. We are focusing all resources now on recovery efforts. Please anticipate 24-72 hour delays as we clear through the backlog.

Please be advised that due to power outages in NS and PEI our terminals in Sydney NS, Charlottetown PEI and Dartmouth NS will be closed for all pickups and deliveries. We will resume operations once communication and power have been restored.

Newfoundland & Labrador
With Marine Atlantic closures and postponed Oceanex departures our service across Newfoundland will face delays this week. All cargo moving to and from the island will be impacted.

Service Update: Update for Delays Due to Hurricane Fiona – September 22, 2022

Please note that Hurricane Fiona is expected to approach parts of Atlantic Canada late Friday, September 23 into Saturday, September 24.

In preparation for the storm, CN will:

-Halt all local switching and mainline carload trains in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia from Friday, September 23 at 18:00 to Saturday, September 24 at 18:00
-Close the gates and halt operations at the Port of Halifax, Halifax intermodal Terminal and Moncton Intermodal Terminal between Friday, September 23 at 18:00 to Saturday, September 24 at 18:00

Train departures are expected to be delayed 48-72 hours, and currently the Friday night train departure has been cancelled.

These plans are subject to change based on weather and track conditions, and we will continue to monitor and communicate additional information as it is made available.
