M-O Rail Strike Plan – August 19, 2024

In response to potential railway strikes, M-O has developed an action plan to help our customers prepare in advance. Below, you’ll find the current shipping ingate cut-off dates for units to arrive before any possible labor disruptions. Please ensure that pickup appointments are scheduled by 3:00 PM on the specified cut-off dates to allow enough time for your shipments to be ingated. Note that these dates may change as the situation evolves, and we will provide updates as needed.

Additionally, M-O will be placing an embargo on all LTL Temperature-Controlled and Hazardous Materials cargo across our network, effective August 15, 2024. Limited temperature-controlled truckload services to Western Canada will be available on a spot-quote basis. LTL services from Brampton and Montreal to Atlantic Canada will incur OTR Surcharge pricing and will also be subject to availability.

Service Update: Potential Delays Due to Temporary System Issues – August 7, 2024

Please note that delays in order entry and tracking may be possible due to a temporary system issue. Our IT department is actively executing the fix as per their established action plan. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will monitor the situation closely, providing any updates as they become available.

Service Update: Observance of Regatta Day in Newfoundland & Labrador – August 6, 2024

Please note that service delays are expected on shipments into and out of Newfoundland and Labrador as they observe Regatta Day on August 7, 2024. Delays may continue throughout the week as any backlogs are addressed. We will continue to monitor the impact and will provide further updates as they become available.

Service Update: Delays in Western Canada Due to Wildfires – July 23, 2024

Please note that evacuations and highway closures caused by the wildfire near Jasper National Park have resulted in delays for volumes moving in and out of Vancouver. Rail operations in the affected area have been stopped, and trains are being diverted and staged until service can resume. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as soon as we have more information on the expected duration of these delays.

As reported earlier this morning, Crowdstrike has identified a global issue which has impacted connectivity to some of our key services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your continued support as our teams work to restore these services. We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available.

Service Update: Delays Anticipated Due to CN System Updates on July 14, 2024 – July 12, 2024

Please be advised that CN will be conducting system updates affecting gate operations on July 14, 2024, between 03:00 and 06:00 EST. During this period, delays may occur at the following locations:

– Brampton
– Malport
– Calgary
– Edmonton
– Vancouver
– Winnipeg
– Saskatoon

Service Update: Canada Day Holiday Closure – June 28, 2024

Please note that there may be delays in both inbound and outbound shipments next week due to our terminal closures on Monday, July 1st, 2024, in observance of Canada Day. Regular services are expected to resume on July 2nd, 2024. 

Service Update: St. John’s Pier Access Delays – June 21, 2024

Please note that service delays may be possible from June 20, 2024 to July 20, 2024  as a result of construction in the downtown core affecting the main access to the St. Johns Pier. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide more detailed updates as they become available. 

Service Update: St. Jean Baptiste Holiday Closure – June 20, 2024

Please note that there may be delays in both inbound and outbound shipments across Montreal next week due to our terminal closure on Monday, June 24th, 2024, in observance of the St. Baptiste Holiday. Regular services are expected to resume on June 25th, 2024.
