Service Update: Possible Delays Due to Confederation Bridge Closure – May 1, 2023​

Service Update: Possible Oceanex Delays into NL – April 5, 2023

Please note that yesterday’s Oceanex Avalon vessel was unable to depart on schedule due to a crane malfunction at the Port of Montreal. Crane operations are expected to resume as of April 7th, however delays may be possible in the interim while Oceanex works to resolve their operating plan. We will continue to monitor the situation, and provide updates as they become available.

Service Update: Weather Update for Halifax – April 5, 2023​​

Please note that delays may be possible in Halifax due to a freezing rain warning that is in effect for this evening into tomorrow morning. We will continue to monitor weather conditions, and provide updates as they become available.

Service Update: Good Friday Observance – April 5, 2023​

Please note that all M-O locations Coast to Coast will be closed on Friday, April 7 in observance of the Good Friday statutory holiday. Regular service will resume on Monday, April 10.

Service Update: Marine Atlantic Update – March 14, 2023

Please note that due to adverse weather, Marine Atlantic has issued the following cancellations:

-North Sydney  to   Port aux Basques  Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2315.
-Port aux Basques  to   North Sydney  Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2330.

Please note that due to impending weather conditions, Marine Atlantic anticipates the following departures to be impacted:

-North Sydney  to   Port aux Basques  Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 1145 and 2315.
-Port aux Basques  to   North Sydney  Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 1145 and 2330.

Please note the following weather alerts for the terminals listed below, we will continue to monitor the situations and provide updates as they become available.

Nova Scotia

Due to a complex weather system, snow is expected to spread across Nova Scotia from west to east and then change to rain. Periods of rain or drizzle will affect most of the province on Wednesday, March 15, but will change back to snow Wednesday evening and could give accumulations of up to 10 cm before ending early Thursday morning.

New Brunswick

Snow is forecasted to develop in the south this afternoon, spreading northward by late evening. Snow will taper to flurries Wednesday afternoon, but persist over the Acadian Peninsula. Visibilities may be reduced due to blowing snow on Wednesday morning along the Acadian shores. Snow may become mixed with rain in the southeast by Wednesday morning.

Ontario & Quebec
Please note that parts of Ontario and Quebec are expected to see a dangerous, wintry mix of ice, freezing rain, and snow starting on Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. We are anticipating delays with cargo moving to/from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Pickup and delivery delays should also be expected as the system moves through. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused by these delays.

Sydney, NS
Please note that our terminal will be closed today due to the weather resulting in 10-35 cm of snow.
Pickups and deliveries will resume once it is safe to do so.

Newfoundland
Heavy snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and strong winds will impact eastern Newfoundland through Tuesday. 20-40 cm of snow is forecast for parts of the northern Avalon including St. John’s. Strong wind gusts are expected to peak near 90 km/h, which could lead to blizzard-like conditions for places like St. Johns and surrounding communities along the northeast coast of Newfoundland. Dangerous travel conditions are likely and power outages and cancellations are possible.

Service Update: Weather Alerts – January 26, 2023

Brampton
Clean-up efforts are underway in the GTA from last night’s storm. Our P&D operations have resumed, but delays are anticipated as the snow-clearing continues across the city.
Line haul services will resume this morning between Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.

Montreal
Additional snowfall amounts near 5 cm are expected this morning. Snow will be accompanied by moderate winds, producing blowing snow at times.
P&D Operations have resumed but we do anticipate some delays around the city.

Edmundston NB
Due to heavy snowfall, the terminal will be closed today for all pickups and deliveries.

PEI
Bridge closures this morning, due to high winds have impacted transfers to the island. Maximum wind gusts of 100 km/h are expected. P&D Operations across the island will be limited.
