Service Update: Rail Disruption Updates - August 26, 2024

We are pleased to inform you that, following binding arbitration imposed by the Government and the CIRB, the recent disruption in the rail service is over. CN employees have returned back to work, all embargoes have been lifted and the trains are moving.

What This Means for You:

  • Resumption of Rail Services: We have already started shifting our volumes back to CN’s network. While we still anticipate some service volatility in the coming days as CN clears the backlog, stabilized transit schedules will resume across the country.
  • Adjustment of Surcharges: We are eliminating the surcharge that was temporarily applied to shipments inbound to Atlantic Canada effective immediately .

We understand the challenges that recent events have posed and will continue to affect us in the coming days. We want to sincerely thank you for your continued trust and cooperation. Should you have any specific concerns or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to our sales team.
